MEAN Exhibition in Barcelona – "Everything is connected" and "Flour Butterfly" at Artio Gallery
In August, when the hot days of Barcelona attract tourists and artists alike, Artio Gallery became a place where art and nature found a new form. The MEAN exhibition, held from August 25-27, 2023, was a unique event where art resonated not only with the space but also with the soul of the city itself.
Among the works featured in this exhibition were my paintings: "Everything is connected" and "Flour Butterfly." Each piece reflects my deep contemplation of the world, its connections, and how we perceive reality.
"Everything is connected" poses questions about how deeply we are intertwined with the world around us. It's not just about the relationship between humans and nature but also with other people, places, time, and space. This piece subtly reminds us that every action, every decision we make impacts the broader context and is part of a greater whole.
"Flour Butterfly" is a work that invites viewers to reflect on the diversity of perception. The vibrant shapes may remind one viewer of flowers and another of a butterfly. Both interpretations are correct. It's a depiction of nature, seemingly frozen in time, allowing us a moment to pause, contemplate, and feel the calmness of the world.
The exhibition at Artio Gallery was not only an opportunity for me to share my art but also a moment to witness how my work is received in a new context – this time against the backdrop of Barcelona's dynamic, energetic environment. Observing how viewers respond to "Everything is connected" and "Flour Butterfly," and how each piece opens up new spaces for dialogue and reflection, was a truly inspiring experience.
This exhibition reminded me how art connects us all – just as everything in the world is connected. I can’t wait for our next encounters, wherever art may take us!
